- In the initial script drafts, the protagonist was supposed to be a police dispatcher.
- The surname Paymon (played by Joshua Mikel as John Michael Paymon) is taken from a demon named Paymon. According to the list of demons listed in the first part of the magical grimoire "The Lesser Key of Solomon," Paymon is the ninth spirit, a great king, entirely obedient to Lucifer, who rules 200 legions of spirits.
