Short description
An American writer in Rome is stalked by a serial killer bent on harassing him while killing all people associated with his work on his latest book.

What's left behind the scenes

  • During the filming of the movie, Argento used electric lighting with a flicker rate of forty cycles per second.
  • The background music that plays at the beginning of the film is taken from the soundtrack to the European version of Romero's 'Dawn of the Dead' (1978). It was edited and re-recorded under the direction of Argento.
  • The film is based on real events: director Dario Argento was long pursued by a fan.
  • The film is still banned in Germany.
  • Argento said that Anthony Franciosa was the most difficult actor he had ever worked with.
