Short description
A quadriplegic man is given a trained monkey help him with every day activities, until the little monkey begins to develop feelings, and rage, against its new master and those who get too close to him.
What's left behind the scenes
- Many of the monkeys involved in the film were indeed given to homes for paraplegics after filming to care for the patients.
- Kristine Forrest, who played the nurse, was married to George A. Romero at the time.
- George A. Romero's (1940-2017) first film commissioned by a studio. Orion Pictures re-edited the film against his wishes, but it still flopped at the box office. After that, Romero returned to producing independent films, and continued to do so until "The Dark Half" (1992), based on the novel of the same name (1989) by Stephen King, which was also made for Orion Pictures.
