• Director Steven Soderbergh managed to film all the scenes with Al Pacino in just three weeks.
• Steven Soderbergh initially envisioned only one actor – Al Pacino – for the role of Willie Bank. Jerry Weintraub, a close friend of Pacino and also one of the film's producers, managed to convince the actor to participate in the film.
• Two members of Ocean's crew, the Malloy brothers, are named Virgil (Casey Affleck) and Turk (Scott Caan). These names were given to the characters not by chance – in 'The Godfather', Michael Corleone, played by Al Pacino, kills a character named Virgil 'Turk' Sollozzo.
• The prosthetic nose used by Matt Damon’s character is a reference to the film 'The Brothers Grimm' also starring Damon. Director Terry Gilliam wanted the actor to wear a prosthetic nose, but studio executives vetoed the decision.
• Rusty’s ringtone is the song “Don't You Want Me” by The Human League.
• The phrase "You shook Sinatra's hand" is repeated several times in the film. Frank Sinatra played the role of Danny Ocean in the original 1960 version of "Ocean's Eleven".
• In one of the episodes, when Rusty talks to Danny, they mention that there used to be the "Sands" and "Desert Inn" casinos here. These were two of the five casinos robbed by the eleven friends of Ocean in the original 1960 film.
• Vladimir Klitschko, who had a cameo in the first part of the trilogy, was offered a role in the film but declined.
• The first words spoken by Reuben after his coma were, "I hear cars coming and going, and Linus crying. I think you should tell me what everyone already knows." This is a slightly altered line from Don Corleone, addressed to his advisor in "The Godfather." (The death of his son Sonny was hidden from the Don.)
