What's left behind the scenes

  • Almost the entire film was shot in sub-zero temperatures.
  • A fourth turbine was supposed to be installed on the dam near the village where the film is set and where the garrison was actually stationed, but it was never assembled due to a number of reasons (including enemy activity in the area). Parts of the turbine still lie outdoors.
  • Director Paul Katis was quite disappointed that after a preview screening of the film, the audience dispersed without a single word. Katis assumed the film had not appealed to anyone. In reality, the audience left in silence simply because they were deeply impressed by what they had seen.
