Short description
A three-year-old boy disappears during his mother's high school reunion. Nine years later, by chance, he turns up in the town in which the family has just relocated.
What's left behind the scenes
- The ending was initially different, but audiences at preview screenings found it too bleak. The filmed ending corresponded to what was written in the novel on which this film was based, and was also preferred by lead actress Michelle Pfeiffer, however the studio dismissed all objections and ordered a happy ending.
