Short description
A small town policeman must investigate a suspicious hunting accident. The investigation and other events result in him slowly disintegrating mentally.
What's left behind the scenes
- James Coburn (1928-2002) had already ended his acting career when he was approached with an offer to star in this film. The actor agreed.
- Meeting with James Coburn before filming began, director Paul Schrader warned him about the responsibility and advised him to prepare properly, to which he replied: "So, I have to act? No problem. I'm rarely asked to play myself, but I can if I have to."
