What's left behind the scenes
- The film is based on Dan Greenberg's novel "The Nanny".
- Sam Raimi was originally intended to direct the film, but left the project early to film "Darkman".
- There were problems with the tree created by the props department and special effects specialists, so other special effects experts were invited. The new team built a tree containing about 2,000 liters of fake blood and with removable bark.
