What's left behind the scenes

Initially, Universal Pictures planned to shoot the film for theatrical release, but the film ultimately premiered on Netflix (a streaming media film and series provider).
The patch of the 173rd Airborne Brigade of the US Army is visible on General Orlando’s uniform. This unit is stationed in Vicenza, in the Italian region of Veneto, so in the event of a global crisis, the 173rd Brigade could well be deployed to Moldova.
The film features Tatra-made armored personnel carriers, and their frames are arranged not lengthwise along the body, but transversely. The suspension is clearly visible at the 26th minute of the film when the APCs stop.
DARPA is the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency of the U.S. Department of Defense, responsible for developing new technologies for use by the armed forces. Specifically, the Agency works with the U.S. Army Special Operations Command, which provides unified command and control of special operations forces across all branches of the U.S. Armed Forces.
The 'castle' on top of the mountain where the special forces retreat is called Citadella. It is located in Budapest, the capital of Hungary. The statue of a woman raising a palm leaf above her head is the Hungarian Statue of Liberty.
After landing at a U.S. Air Force base in Moldova, James Badge Dale’s character, Dale, passes by 'MiG-21s' and other Soviet aircraft from the former Slovak Air Force bearing U.S. Air Force markings.
