• The directorial debut of animator Bob Persichetti.
• 140 people worked on the animation – this is the largest animation team ever used by Sony Animation Pictures.
• Stan Lee (1922-2018), the creator of many comic book characters, rides in every train that passes by the viewer. You can notice him if you press the 'pause' button. This was done at the whim of the filmmakers.
• The unique animation style is designed to make the viewer feel like they are on the pages of a comic book. According to screenwriter Phil Lord and producer Christopher Miller, the project used a combination of state-of-the-art computer animation with hand-drawn illustrations.
• To avoid a blurring effect, only 12 frames per second were used in a significant portion of the animation, rather than the usual 24.
• Shortly after Stan Lee’s death at the age of 95, it was announced that he had recorded his voice for use in this project, and that this would be his final voice acting role. The project’s creators believed that Lee’s participation in this project should be more prominent than his involvement in previous Marvel films, because he himself had done so much for the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
