• An unprecedented incident occurred during the production of the film. Fans of the project, who followed the filming difficulties online, forced the producers to reshoot several scenes in order to change the film's rating from PG-13 to a more restrictive R-rating. In March 2006, six months after the completion of the main part of the shooting, 5 additional days were allocated for these purposes.
• Ronny Yu was the producers' first choice for the director's position. The director of "Freddy vs. Jason" took on the work with great enthusiasm, but was fired due to creative differences and budget overruns. David R. Ellis replaced him.
