What's left behind the scenes

  • As Simon Pegg later stated, the actress playing Nancy, Lake Bell, remained in character even when the cameras were off. The film's technical crew only learned that she was not English when the actress thanked everyone at the end of filming.
  • The film mentions Kefalonia (an island and province of Greece). This is a favorite vacation spot for Simon Pegg and screenwriter Tess Morris.
  • The song that Nancy refers to as "their song" in her conversation with Jack is the British chart hit "Move Closer" by Phyllis Nelson. Sean also hums this song to Nancy when they are in the toilet cubicle.
  • Nancy talks about a person who traveled to China in search of themselves. Simon Pegg's character did the same in Peter Chelsom's film *Hector and the Search for Happiness* (2014).
