What's left behind the scenes
- To obtain mandatory insurance, which was required before work began on the film, Michelangelo Antonioni (1912-2007), who was still recovering from a stroke, was forced to agree to collaborate with a second director who could replace him in case of unforeseen circumstances. He chose Wim Wenders for this position, who shot the prologue and epilogue of the film.
