What's left behind the scenes

  • The last day of filming was marred by tragedy. On September 11, 2015, stunt pilot Alan D. Parvin and second pilot Carlos Berl crashed in a small, twin-engine aircraft manufactured by Romanian company Aerostar, entering a dense fog zone in the Andes near Medellín, Colombia. Only Jimmy Lee Garland survived the crash, but with serious injuries. Ten minutes before the crash, a helicopter carrying Tom Cruise flew along the same route and in exactly the same unfavorable conditions.
  • The small town of Ball Ground, Georgia, served as the location for filming the movie version of the city of Mena, Arkansas.
  • There is a misspelling of the word "Kalashnikov" at the 37th minute of the film; the inscription on the boxes with the automatic rifles reads "Kalashnikov".
  • There is a misspelling of the word "Kalashnikov" at the 37th minute of the film; the boxes with the machine guns are labeled "Kalashnikov" with an 'a' instead of an 'o'.
