What's left behind the scenes

  • The story about Elvis that the character played by Woody Harrelson tells in the hotel is actually the story of how Woody Harrelson himself became an actor.
  • The business idea that Madison describes is actually the idea upon which the company Uber is based. The company was founded in 2009, a year that does not exist in the «Zombieland» universe, where the zombie apocalypse happened in 2009.
  • All the actors who appeared in previous films in the franchise were required to approve the script. Woody Harrelson, playing Tallahassee, also had to approve the consistency and overall appearance of the vomit.
  • Some of the actors playing zombies shaved patches of hair from their heads or beards and applied fake wounds and sores to the exposed areas. The exploding heads were not made of silicone, but of hardened foam covered with a layer of latex foam. They would have been too heavy if made of silicone.
  • Actors playing the new type of zombies, referred to as "T-800s", had up to 20 prosthetic sores applied to each of them, including prosthetics for the ears, inside the ears, and even inside the nostrils.
  • During the end credits, Elvis Presley's (1935-1977) song "Burning Love" performed by Woody Harrelson plays. It was first performed by Arthur Alexander (1940-1993).
  • The characters played by Luke Wilson and Thomas Middleditch are named Albuquerque and Flagstaff, respectively. Initially, these names were intended for the characters played by Woody Harrelson and Jesse Eisenberg, but they were later named Tallahassee and Columbus.
