- Denzel Washington wanted the fight scenes to be as realistic as possible, so he was trained for them by professional mixed martial artist Tyron Woodley, who was specially brought in.
- Filming took place from September to November 2017 in Boston, Lynn, Marshfield, and Duxbury in the state of Massachusetts.
