Short description
Once again, Bastian is transported to the world of Fantasia which he recently managed to save from destruction. However, the land is now being destroyed by an evil sorceress, Xayide, so he must join up with Atreyu and face the Emptiness once more.
What's left behind the scenes
- Several shots of Atreyu riding a horse and chasing the dragon Smaug were taken from the first film. However, Noah Hathaway, who played the character, was never credited in the film's credits.
- Thomas Hill (Mr. Koreander, the bookstore owner) was the only actor to appear in both the original film and the sequel.
- Screenings of the film in American cinemas were preceded by a four-minute animated short film, "Box Office Bunny." This was the first cartoon about the adventures of the famous Bugs Bunny to be released since 1964. The short film was also included in the original home video release of the film.
