- English writer and screenwriter Michael Bond (1926-2017), the creator of Paddington Bear, passed away six months before the film's release.
- The address where the world's most polite bear lives – 32 Windsor Gardens in Notting Hill – does not actually exist. Writer Michael Bond invented it, “mixing” the address of his parents, Winser Drive, and his own – Arundel Gardens.
- After completing the underwater filming for Guillermo del Toro's 2017 science fiction drama 'The Shape of Water,' Sally Hawkins (who played Mary Brown in Paul King's film) flew from Toronto, Canada, to London for filming, where she learned that she would also have underwater scenes there.
- A pop-up book for the film was released in a limited collector's edition, containing six 'pop-up' scenes from the movie.
