• The film is based on the comic series The Losers by Andy Diggle and Jock, which was published from 2003 to 2006.
• At times, Max is shown wearing a glove on his left hand – sometimes white, sometimes black, depending on the scene. This is because in the comic books of the same name, Max is actually two twin agents. In the film, he wears a glove due to a scar on his hand.
• The film features a radio telescope, which is the telescope at the Arecibo Observatory in Puerto Rico. It was one of the largest single-aperture telescopes in the world (it collapsed on December 1, 2020, due to wear and tear on the supporting structure).
• Artist Aaron Osborne and cinematographer Scott Kevan significantly expanded the color palette of the comics, where only two or three colors were used in each scene.
