• Robert Rodriguez wrote several scripts for "Predator 3" as early as 1994. However, after the disappointing box office performance of "Predator 2" (1990), as well as the fact that the threequel would require a significant budget, the project was never realized. According to Rodriguez, many elements of his early scripts were incorporated into "Predators".
• Initially, Robert Rodriguez considered directing the film, but then decided to limit himself to screenwriting and producing roles.
• Neil Marshall, Michael J. Bassett, and Bill Duke were considered for the director's position.
• Darren Lynn Bousman and Marcus Nispel expressed interest in directing the film.
• The filming period took a total of 53 days.
• Having convinced the studio that Royce shouldn't be a brute, Rodriguez found himself with a rich selection of candidates. In particular, Milo Ventimiglia, Freddy Rodriguez, and Josh Brolin competed for the role.
• The fact that Alice Braga is Latina can be seen as continuity and a good tradition. In the first two 'Predators' films, the only female characters were also Latinas.
