Short description
Nanny McPhee appears at the door of a harried young mother who is trying to run the family farm while her husband is away at war. But once she’s arrived, Nanny discovers that the children are fighting a war of their own against two spoiled city cousins who have just moved in. Relying on everything from a flying motorcycle and a statue that comes to life to a tree-climbing piglet and a baby elephant, Nanny uses her magic to teach her mischievous charges five new lessons.
What's left behind the scenes
- The scenes in the village were filmed in the small village of Gammelden in South Buckinghamshire, which is a very popular filming location. The main set for the farm itself was located in the village of Hascombe, Surrey. Senate House – the main administrative building of the University of London – was used as the War Office in the film.
- The motorcycle with a sidecar in the film is a 350cc Ariel W/NG. This model was widely used by the British Army during World War II.
- Emma Thompson began working on the screenplay as early as spring 2007.
