Short description
The controlled explosion of an atomic bomb in the Arctic Circle awakens a frozen dinosaur that will wreak havoc in New York City.

What's left behind the scenes

  • The film is based on Ray Bradbury's short story “The Fog Horn,” published several years earlier in “The Saturday Evening Post.”
  • This is the first film where the monster appears due to an atomic bomb.
  • In translations, the fathoms in the title were changed to miles and nautical miles, sazhens and nautical sazhens.
  • Along with "King Kong" and "The Lost World," Redosaurus inspired the Japanese to create Godzilla.
