What's left behind the scenes
- The plot and the fictional character of Marguerite Dumont are based on the story of the real Florence Foster Jenkins (1868-1944), a socialite who dreamed of becoming an opera singer, although she sang terribly. Her husband and other close people often arranged 'private concerts' to protect Florence from ridicule.
