Short description
When an IMF mission ends badly, the world is faced with dire consequences. As Ethan Hunt takes it upon himself to fulfill his original briefing, the CIA begin to question his loyalty and his motives. The IMF team find themselves in a race against time, hunted by assassins while trying to prevent a global catastrophe.
What's left behind the scenes
- Tom Cruise trained for a year to perform all the stunts himself on set.
- Tom Cruise seriously injured his leg during filming. It was decided to suspend the filming process for several months.
- Tom Cruise learned to fly a helicopter professionally so that all the shots with him would be filmed live with minimal use of special effects and green screen. At the same time, there was no operator inside the cockpit during the flight scenes of his helicopter. Cameras were mounted externally on special reinforced mounts, as well as inside the rotary-wing aircraft.
- Christopher McQuarrie is the first director in the franchise to have directed more than one film.
- During Solomon Lane's abduction, bullet holes appear and disappear on the windshield of the truck driven by Ethan Hunt.
