Trained KGB assassin, Edward Genn (code name ICARUS), worked years ago as a sleeper agent in America. But when the Soviet Union collapsed, he quickly found himself in a foreign country with no one to trust. Determined to escape his muddled existence, Edward tries to start over. He assumes a new identity, starts a family and tries to start his own legitimate business that could potentially pull him out of his world of being a hitman.

- Initially, Dolph Lundgren intended to film the project and play not the main role, but the role of the villain, but the filmmakers did not approve of his idea.
- Producers removed Lundgren from working on the final editing of the film. The result of their work displeased Lundgren so much that he even wanted to remove his name from the credits as "director".
- In the film, Dolph Lundgren and Bo Svenson play Russians. In real life, they are both Swedish.
- Icarus's Beretta 92FS Inox pistol unexpectedly switches to a Taurus PT92 and then back to a Beretta 92FS Inox during the shootout.
