Short description
A struggling painter is possessed by satanic forces after he and his young family move into their dream home in rural Texas.
What's left behind the scenes
- The band Metallica gave their song "For Whom the Bell Tolls" for the soundtrack free of charge due to their strong appreciation for the project.
- Jesse, played by Ethan Embry, parks his car near a gallery which, judging by the sign, is called "Belial." In the Bible, this is the name of a tempter demon.
- Ray is carrying a child wrapped in a blanket, who is kicking and writhing. In reality, a doll was wrapped in the blanket.
- To some extent, the film is a kind of exploration of the guilt felt by director and screenwriter Sean Byrne when he leaves loved ones for work for extended periods.
