- Rockstar Games has made an official statement that the film is full of inaccuracies and distorts the personalities of the people depicted in it.
- The developers noted a number of inaccuracies. For example, the office walls were not glass, and employees wore their own clothes, without studio logos.
- In May 2015, Rockstar filed a lawsuit against the BBC for trademark infringement, stating that they had no involvement in the creation of the film and had unsuccessfully tried to contact the BBC to resolve the issue.
