• Brothers Joel and Ethan Coen, like David Lynch, submitted their work past the deadline, and therefore were not included in the final cut of the film (the DVD was being prepared for the beginning of the Cannes Film Festival and was already being distributed and sold there on the premiere day). However, David Lynch's film and the work of the Coen brothers were shown as separate clips during the premiere screenings. Later, Lynch's short film was released in a French 2-disc collector's edition along with a re-edited work by Hou Hsiao-hsien and expanded versions by Iñárritu, Cimino, and Suleiman. Incidentally, the Coens were inexplicably absent from this edition.
