• The cartoon artists have around 350 variations of the wardrobe for the three main human characters. Gerda had the most costume changes.
• Approximately 55,000 storyboards (2D) were drawn for the third part of The Snow Queen, based on which 3D animation was subsequently created. (For comparison – the second part required only 5,000 storyboards).
• A 3D model was created in the center of the studio in Voronezh to visualize the film, completely modeling the magical world where the action of 'The Snow Queen 3' unfolds: from hot Spain to the Forbidden Lands of the trolls.
• Since the film is being released internationally, all the characters speak English – the cartoon is dubbed separately for each country.
• Animators have approximately 178 images of Spanish villages, which they created for the first episode on the coast before the bank in Spain.
• 1,342 original trees are drawn in the cartoon.
• If the troll Orm had a height of 170 cm, the length of his nose would be around 42 cm and would barely cope with Earth's gravity.
• 18 hours of 2D animation were created before the animators started working with volumetric characters in 3D.
• The panorama in the city of trolls, a rock resembling a protruding tongue, is a very specific location on the Scandinavian Peninsula. The imagination-stirring stone outcrop on Mount Skjeggedal is the Trolltunga (Troll's Tongue) rock. This latest wonder of nature is a detached part of the cliff, towering over Lake Ringedalsvatnet at an altitude of 350 meters.
• The troll Orm has 4,456,545 hairs. And it took 84 hours of continuous work to draw all of Orm's hair. The process of combing this character, in total, took about 5 hours.
• 5 hours of acting performance were recorded during the preparation of the cartoon.
• The fish in Rollan's hands in the first episode is tuna.
• To depict a wide range of emotions, the animators used, among other sources, Paul Ekman's book 'Telling Lies'.
• Special effects artists reviewed 23 hours of video to create realistic lava in the cartoon.
• There are approximately 250 scenes with lava in the cartoon.
• Special effects artists use data formats regarding the depth of avalanches. One second of finished avalanche footage, after assembling all the frames and 'collecting' all the layers with lighting, weighs approximately 10 gigabytes.
• A single frame of the animated film consists of 40–50 working layers, on which the lighting is set – backgrounds and characters are properly illuminated to ensure the color of the image is conveyed to the viewer with maximum saturation.
• To power the render farm, a month's worth of energy is required equivalent to what would be needed to illuminate three five-story buildings with five entrances each.
• The final version is an hour and a half long, whereas the film initially ran for 1 hour and 48 minutes, and was then reduced to 1 hour and 29 minutes.
• Among the props, animators came up with an armored train so that the characters could travel across the magical land as quickly as possible.
• One of the minor characters from the first "The Snow Queen" returns in the third installment – the orphanage caretaker becomes a pirate and joins Ataman's gang.
