Short description
A hard-on-his-luck hound finds himself in a town full of cats in need of a hero to defend them from a ruthless villain's wicked plot to wipe their village off the map. With help from a reluctant mentor, our underdog must assume the role of town samurai and team up with the villagers to save the day.
What's left behind the scenes
- Unlike most animated films, where actors voice their characters individually, the initial idea here was for Michael Cera and Samuel L. Jackson to record their lines in each other's presence, to make their characters' communication sound more natural. The actors managed to record only one session before the coronavirus pandemic began, and they had to finish recording everything else from home. The dialogue was originally recorded in 2015-2016, when the film was still expected to be released in 2017, but the script was rewritten, work on the film was restarted in 2019, and almost all the lines had to be re-recorded.
