  • The original version of the film is 148 minutes long, while the Russian theatrical release version lasts 85 minutes.
  • Amitabh Bachchan was considered for the role of the villain, but Rajinikanth himself stated that audiences would not accept him in such a role.
  • Approximately one million smartphones and phone props were used in the film.
  • Over 3,000 people from around the world participated in the making of the film.
  • The Indian Association of Cellular Operators sent an official letter to the government accusing the film of unscientific approach and demanding its ban.
  • The first version of the film lasted almost 3 hours. The filmmakers decided it would be difficult to watch for so long in 3D glasses, and the film was shortened.
  • To prevent leaks, the Madras High Court ordered 37 internet providers to block access to more than 12,000 websites specializing in the pirated showing of films in Tamil.
