What's left behind the scenes
- The scenes in Nottingham were filmed in the old part of the Croatian city of Dubrovnik. It was also the location for filming some episodes of “Game of Thrones” (2011) and scenes from the film “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” (J.J. Abrams, 2015).
- To teach the actors archery, they hired artist and archer Lars Andersen. Andersen became famous for a YouTube video demonstrating his incredible archery skills, after which he was nicknamed "The Real Legolas." Robin uses Andersen's technique in this film.
- Filming had to be postponed because Taron Egerton was filming "Kingsman: The Golden Circle" (Matthew Vaughn, 2017). Director Otto Bathurst wanted to cast Egerton so much that he even agreed to postpone filming to a later date.
- The film's artists were instructed to make all the props one-third historically authentic, one-third modern, and one-third futuristic, hence the unique impression the film leaves on viewers.
- As Taron Egerton later revealed, he does not appear in any scenes riding a horse because he did not film any scenes in the saddle, as he is afraid of horseback riding.
- A few days before the end of filming in Budapest, a fire destroyed the set, so the remaining scenes had to be reshot in Paris.
- Nearly 95% of all the costumes used in the film were handmade by Julian Day and his team.
