Short description
Aleksey is an ordinary young man living in Russia during the 1990s. Like most of his contemporaries, he is looking for a way to survive. The easiest way is the way of crime. He joins a gang. Fortunately, his fate takes a sudden turn and he manages to find the right path. The film also addresses global terrorism, one of the most important and painful issues of today's world. The main characters of the film, together with their American colleagues, take part in a special operation to destroy a band of international terrorists and drug traffickers.

What's left behind the scenes

  • The Shaolin administration initially refused to even consider filming, but the producer’s persistence paid off: after reading the script translated into Chinese, the abbot of the Shaolin Monastery agreed.
  • The main role in the film “The Path” is played by Dmitry Nosov, a medalist at the Athens Olympics. In addition to him, a number of outstanding Russian athletes are involved in the film – Irina Chashchina and Nikolai Valuev, Oleg Taktarov, Dmitry Maksimov, Jamal Azhigirey, and many others.
  • The film is vying for a place in the Guinness Book of Records for the number of sports stars who participated in the film.
  • Filming took place in China, in the Thai jungles on the border with Burma, and in the USA. Notably, after a long-standing ban on filming, the crew of “The Path” was the first foreign company to receive permission from the Chinese government to film scenes not only on the Great Wall of China, but also within the walls of the famous Shaolin Monastery.
  • To recreate the authentic atmosphere of the 1990s, the film crew located and restored a unique and rare car model – a 1986 BMW-635 – and clothing from that era was custom-made for the filming by specialists from the "GRECOFF" design bureau.
