What's left behind the scenes
- In preparation for filming, the director made the actors watch documentary footage of an exorcism.
- The film was shot on location in the rural part of Louisiana, in a real farmhouse abandoned after Hurricane Katrina.
- Learning that actress Ashley Bell possessed exceptional flexibility, the director rewrote the scene of the second exorcism, in which Ashley was able to demonstrate unusual capabilities of her own body.
