Short description
A crime-drama, about the cultural aversion of a group of punk rockers in a conservative Texas town. Their ongoing battle with a rival, more-affluent clique leads to a controversial hate crime that questions the morality of American justice.
What's left behind the scenes
- The film is based on real events – the death of 19-year-old punk musician Brian Deneke on December 12, 1997, when he was hit by the car of 17-year-old athlete Dustin Camp in Amarillo, Texas. Camp was convicted of manslaughter and sentenced to 10 years of probation. In 2001, he was sentenced to a real prison term for violating his probation, but was released in 2006. Deneke's death drew the attention of all American society to Amarillo and the intolerance that prevailed in the city.
