Short description
In a time when monsters walk the Earth, humanity’s fight for its future sets Godzilla and Kong on a collision course that will see the two most powerful forces of nature on the planet collide in a spectacular battle for the ages.

What's left behind the scenes

  • The film takes place immediately after the events of "Godzilla 2: King of the Monsters" (Michael Dougherty, 2019) and 47 years after the events of "Kong: Skull Island" (Jordan Vogt-Roberts, 2017), which takes place in 1973.
  • The film takes place immediately after the events of "Godzilla II: King of the Monsters" (Michael Dougherty, 2019) and 47 years after the events of "Kong: Skull Island" (Jordan Vogt-Roberts, 2017), which takes place in 1973.
  • In an interview with Variety magazine, director Adam Wingard explained why he always tries to keep his films under 2 hours. According to him, additional runtime in monster movies doesn’t necessarily mean audiences will see the monsters fighting each other—it more often means more time spent with the characters simply talking about the monsters.
  • When choosing an actress for the role that ultimately went to Kaylee Hottle, she made the biggest impression on Adam Wingard and demonstrated that she was a professional. He tried to make her laugh by imitating Michael Jackson’s “moonwalk,” but not a single muscle on her face twitched.
  • When Alexander Skarsgård was asked what convinced him to agree to film with Wingard, he replied that he had recently played a number of negative characters and wanted to appear on screen in a different guise.
  • Adam Wingard spent three months learning sign language, but never mastered it. During filming, a sign language interpreter was constantly near Kaylee Hottle.
