Short description
Dracula, Mavis, Johnny and the rest of the Drac Pack take a vacation on a luxury Monster Cruise Ship, where Dracula falls in love with the ship’s captain, Ericka, who’s secretly a descendant of Abraham Van Helsing, the notorious monster slayer.

What's left behind the scenes

  • The character of Crystal was inspired by Kitty from A. Edward Sutherland's science fiction film "The Invisible Woman" (1940).
  • Over 5,700 portholes were created for the ship.
  • Aaron LaPlante is the only actor in the project who voiced over a dozen characters.
  • The advertisement celebrating the birthday on the cruise liner lists the names of the film crew.
  • The scene where Johnny sees the gremlin on the plane's wing is a reference to the episode "Nightmare at 20,000 Feet" from the classic television series "The Twilight Zone" (1959-1964).
  • The chupacabra is an unknown creature to science, a character from urban legends. The urban legend originated in the 1950s when several dead goats were found in Puerto Rico, allegedly drained of their blood. That's why in the film, the bartender serves the chupacabra a goat in a glass when it asks for a drink.
  • To enhance visual realism, the special effects artists created the ships in the “Bermuda Triangle” individually.
  • This is the last work of animator Bud Luckey. He passed away on February 24, 2018, while work on the film was underway. The film is dedicated to his memory.
