• The character played by Robert Nepper uses the same rifle that Lance Henriksen's character used in John Woo's 1993 film “Hard Target”. It is a Contender model from the American firm Thompson/Center Arms.
• The film features pigeons, which is a reference to John Woo, the director of the original 1993 film. Woo repeatedly filmed pigeons in his films.
• This film is considered a sequel to the 1993 action film, but none of the actors from Woo's film appear in the cast of Roel Reiné's thriller.
• The speedboat chase scene was originally written into the script for 'Hard Target' in 1993, but at some point it was replaced with a horse chase. This scene was included here as a tribute to John Woo.
