Short description

Ouyang Feng is a heartbroken and cynical man who spends his days in the desert, connecting expert swordsmen with those seeking revenge and willing to pay for it. Throughout five seasons in exile, Ouyang spins tales of his clients' unrequited loves and unusual acts of bravery.

What's left behind the scenes

Wong Kar-wai was inspired to create the film 'Ashes of Time' by the characters in Louis Cha's novel 'The Eagle-Shooting Heroes'.
In 2008, a director's cut of the 1994 film was released, made to adapt the film for American theatrical release. It is 7 minutes shorter.
