• Filming of the movie began in October 2010 in Berlin.
• Actor Kunal Kapoor had to decline a role in the film 'Tezz' due to a scheduling conflict.
• Actor Hrithik Roshan, who played a cameo role in the film, also starred with Priyanka Chopra in two parts of one film called 'Krrish' and 'Krrish 3'.
• Shah Rukh Khan performed all the stunts himself.
• In February 2011, the film crew flew to Malaysia, where several prison scenes were planned to be shot. An entire section of the penitentiary was allocated for filming. To avoid confusion, special t-shirts were made and distributed to all members of the crew.
• Priyanka Chopra Jonas refused the services of a stunt double in the car chase scene and performed a significant portion of the corresponding stunts herself. She trained in martial arts for two months before filming began.
• 67 cars, specially brought from Korea, were used in the car chase scene. Several central streets in Berlin (particularly near the Brandenburg Gate) were closed to traffic for three weeks for filming. Alternative routes and detours had to be found and provided for vehicular traffic each day.
• Indian model and actress Katrina Kaif always wanted to participate in the post-production process of any project, and director, screenwriter, and producer Farhan Akhtar allowed her to edit a small segment of the film.
• For his role in the film, Boman Irani lost 12 kg and grew a beard.
