• The driver wears the same clothes for all 5 days that the film's plot unfolds, as he can only think about his desire for revenge. Costume designer Salvador Perez Jr. purchased 30 identical outfits for Dwayne Johnson so that the actor could at least change clothes.
• Preparing for the filming of the fight in the club's restroom, Dwayne Johnson spent 2 days studying a fighting style developed by inmates of US correctional facilities.
• The DVD edition's "Bonus" section features a more extended ending to the film, in which Dwayne Johnson's character finally settles the score with the hitman. This episode was cut from the theatrical release.
• Before filming began, director George Tillman Jr. gave the actors involved in the film folders with information about their characters, as well as a list of films he recommended they watch.
• In preparation for filming, Dwayne Johnson, Oliver Jackson-Cohen, and Maggie Grace trained at Rick Seaman's extreme driving school.
• Salma Hayek was initially cast for one of the roles in the film, but she left the project a week before filming began due to scheduling conflicts, and Carla Gugino took over the role.
• According to the plot, Oliver Jackson-Cohen’s character invariably charges $1 for his services. This is a common practice among hitmen who don't really need the money and are more attracted to the fight, and especially – the opportunity to eliminate a competitor.
