Short description
A bullied young boy befriends a young female vampire who lives in secrecy with her guardian. A remake of the movie “Let The Right One In” which was an adaptation of a book.

What's left behind the scenes

  • Stephen King named "Let Me In" the best film of 2010.
  • The word "vampire" is spoken only once in the film.
  • A scene in which Abby is raped and turned into a vampire was cut from the film. According to Matt Reeves, this episode did not fit the overall narrative.
  • In scenes where Abby walks barefoot, Chloë Grace Moretz was genuinely barefoot. Between takes, crew members warmed her feet.
  • The remake rights were acquired in 2008 at the Tribeca Film Festival. Tomas Alfredson, the director of the original film, was offered to direct the American version, but he declined.
  • Filming took place from November 2009 to January 2010.
  • Despite Owen asking Abby twice how old she is, she never reveals her true age, saying she is 'about 12 years old'.
  • The tapping at the end of the first trailer spells out 'help me'. At the end of the film, Owen uses Morse code to tell Abby, who is sitting in a box, 'kiss'.
