• The start of work on the film had to be postponed for three months to give Gerard Butler time to recover from an injury sustained in a motorcycle accident.
• The G20 summit shown in the film, which was attended by the US President played by Morgan Freeman, was actually the 2017 G20 summit in Hamburg. Freeman's character was inserted into the footage in place of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, and British Prime Minister Theresa May was removed from the footage altogether.
• In this film, Nick Nolte plays a Vietnam War veteran. In reality, Nolte did not fight in Vietnam.
• The poster shows a plane belonging to the President of the United States being shot down, but this does not happen in the film. The poster was printed before amendments were made to the script and the scene was removed.
