Short description
Primatologist Davis Okoye shares an unshakable bond with George, the extraordinarily intelligent, silverback gorilla who has been in his care since birth. But a rogue genetic experiment gone awry mutates this gentle ape into a raging creature of enormous size. To make matters worse, it’s soon discovered there are other similarly altered animals. As these newly created alpha predators tear across North America, destroying everything in their path, Okoye teams with a discredited genetic engineer to secure an antidote, fighting his way through an ever-changing battlefield, not only to halt a global catastrophe but to save the fearsome creature that was once his friend.

What's left behind the scenes

  • Dwayne Johnson's character drives a 2004 Ford Bronco. This concept car never went into production.
  • In Claire Widen's office, you can see a cabinet from the original "Rampage" arcade game.
  • Initially, George was supposed to be a regular gorilla, but then the authors decided to make him an albino, so that the injuries and wounds on his body would be more visible, and so that George wouldn't look like King Kong.
  • Dwayne Johnson's character makes a sign to the gorilla meaning "it's me" to calm it down, but in reality, the sign means "stone" or "rock" – just like the actor's nickname.
  • George is the only animal in the film played by an actor (Jason Liles). Ralph and Lizzie were created using computer technology.
  • Mutated humans acted as the monsters in the "Rampage" video game – they transformed into giant animals.
  • In one episode, George pulls a person out of a building and eats them. In the game, this was necessary to restore the hero's strength.
  • In Claire Widener’s office, you can see a cabinet from the original "Rampage" arcade machine.
  • Dwayne Johnson’s character makes the sign for “this is me” to a gorilla to calm it down, however, in reality, the sign means “stone” or “rock” – just like the actor’s nickname.
  • In the computer game "Rampage," mutated humans acted as the monsters – they transformed into giant animals.
