Short description
Nearly a decade after occupation by an extraterrestrial force, the lives of a Chicago neighborhood on both sides of the conflict are explored. In a working-class Chicago neighborhood occupied by an alien force for nine years, increased surveillance and the restriction of civil rights have given rise to an authoritarian system -- and dissent among the populace.
What's left behind the scenes
- The original title of the film can be translated as “Captive”.
- The countdown heard at the beginning and end of the film is a recording of the authentic countdown before the launch of the Apollo 11 manned spacecraft in 1969.
- In one of the early shots, showing the Chicago skyline, the roof of a certain hotel was added, which is actually located not in Chicago, but in the North Korean capital, Pyongyang. Construction began in 1987, but it still hasn't been completed. The hotel is listed in the Guinness Book of Records as the tallest building in the world that has not been put into operation.
- Towards the end of filming, Machine Gun Kelly suffered a chest injury. It is believed this was due to repeated blows to the chest from the actor playing the police officer.
- The original title of the film can be translated as "Captive."
