Many characters in the film are named after well-known Spanish comic book publishers who have the right to publish DC and Marvel comics in Spain and Mexico – these are Novaro, Vid, Vertice, Bruguera and Norma. The residential complex where Victor Vid lives is called Surco. A Spanish publishing house that owned Marvel comics in the early 1980s also bore that name.
