• Kevin Smith decided to make this film while in the hospital recovering from a heart attack in 2018. He couldn't bear the thought of his last film being the horror-comedy 'Yoga Hosers' (2016). He also wanted to have a good experience working with Jason Mewes, as their last collaboration in this area (the 2001 comedy 'Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back') was marred by Mewes's struggles with drugs and alcohol.
• According to Kevin Smith, Stan Lee (1922-2018) was supposed to play a significant role in the third film, but unfortunately, he passed away before filming began. Smith also said that the film will include a dedication to Lee's memory.
