Short description

The idea for this plot came to screenwriter Don Payne while working on “The Simpsons.” The script he put up for sale interested Regency Enterprises and director Ivan Reitman, and the film quickly went into production.
The website professorbedlam.com, mentioned by Doctor Bedlam, actually redirects web users to the official website of 20th Century Fox.
Filming took place over four weeks, in October-November 2005, in New York.
