Short description
A man stranded in the Arctic is finally about to receive his long awaited rescue. However, after a tragic accident, his opportunity is lost and he must then decide whether to remain in the relative safety of his camp or embark on a deadly trek through the unknown for potential salvation.
What's left behind the scenes
- At the premiere screening at the 2018 Cannes International Film Festival, the film received a ten-minute standing ovation.
- Initially, the film was titled 'On Mars'. The plot was the same, except the protagonist couldn't breathe instead of freezing. However, director Joe Penna then learned that a film called 'The Martian' starring Matt Damon would be released soon. That's when the decision was made to abandon the Mars idea.
- The bear in the film is real. It was cheaper to film the animal than to create it with visual effects.
