• When Krista comes to Zora, at the moment she picks up the cassette, several posters with an image of the rabbit mask – the same one featured on the poster for Richard Kelly’s previous film, "Donnie Darko" (2001) – can be seen in the background.
• Richard Kelly wrote the screenplay for the film shortly before the September 11, 2001 attacks. It featured a blackmailer, a porn star, and two police officers. After the attacks, Kelly revised it.
• When special forces raid a house searching for officer Roland Tavernier, they kill all the neo-Marxists they encounter along the way. One of them, sitting on the toilet, is played by Eli Roth – a film director who played one of the main roles in Quentin Tarantino's "Inglourious Basterds" (2009).
